..:: Wan Tan Mee Seri Kembangan, Selangor ::..

Food is always a great pleasure for me and the food that I would like to highlight the most is just a simple plate of WTM that varies in Malaysia. For this time, I will only have the Wan Tan Mee food blog that I have started. The one I am talking about is the simple shop at Seri Kembangan, located somewhere opposite KFC Seri Kembangan, and yup! you'll have to forgive me as I didn't manage to get the exact address from the shop owner as this was just a passerby case and at a rushing time.

Let the picture tell ya all...

The ever generous black sauce is contrary to the others WTM that you may see for example the one you could get at certain part of Malaysia which has the chili boh sauce without the dark colour sauce that you may see here.

Hrmm... this I would say that the amount of char siew (Charcoal pork) is little to be accompany by the much mee given, and what would be worst is the normal pickled green chili to be eaten together with the WTM have finish the time I dine.

Luckily to me any dish which is accompany with any chili will do for me, and so I was served with cili padi(bird's eye chili).

This shop also served some dim sum delicacies, and so I tried the siew mai(pork wrap with wantan skin- this is cooked by steaming), and on the far right is the wantan(pork wrap with wantan skin- this is cooked in soup) and comes together with the WTM. The WTM is price at RM 4.00 per bowl and the siew mai cost at RM 2.60 per plate.

Overall rating for this WTM is 2/5, and yeah it was a great quick lunch for me.

.:: Seafood Klang, Port Village ::.

Here comes the crave for some mar-mite baby squids, and this call for another seafood fiesta. A close friend came to my mind when it comes to that baby squids...Nyum~~

Klang popped from my head and here we go, to port klang it is.

Unlucky for us, today there is no baby squid around, so we substitute it for fried squid instead.

Let's see what we ordered.

Fried squids with sweet and spicy sauce, something like thai chili sauce.

The squid was a little on the oily side, and it could not substitute the tasty and crispy baby squid with marmite sauce.

The squid is tastier with the sweet and spicy sauce.

This is the four meal that we have, from the top is the tom yum fish with meehoon on the top, from the bottom right is the fried squid, sambal asparagus and also the only dish which I found nice was the 'ham tan' crab.
The asparagus and the fish was not anything that I could highlight here as the asparagus was on the oily side and I couldn't taste the chili at all except for the oil, and to make matter worst the asparagus texture was hard and old. And as for the tom yum fish was kind of sad as it lack the spicy and ooompphh... taste of tom yum, and was a little bland for tom yum.

I could highlight on this a little which is the 'ham tan'(the salted egg) crab, which is to my liking creamy and tasty, and the eggs on the crab was yummy. The only sad case was the seafood served was not really fresh and I would have guess it was because there were no fresh seafood cater by the fisherman as it was the raya(the Muslim was having their new year celebration) month.

So this teach us a lesson to never have seafood there on the month of Raya.

Anyway happy raya to all my fellow Muslim friends out there and to those not celebrating, have a great holiday ahead.

p/s: Maaf, zahir dan batin to all my Muslim friends and have a great month of raya too.

.:: Restoran Ampang Pasar : Yong Tau Fu ::.

Ampang Yong Tau Fu has it's name across Malaysia as something that has variety of stuffed either with pork, chicken meat or even with fish paste of vegetables, namely the bitter-gourd, brinjal(eggplant), lady finger, red or green chili, red or green peppers, sui-kow(wantan skin wrap with pork) and of course the ever loved by many beancurd skin. All of this is either being cooked in the clear soup or even being deep fried.
Let's view the one I have at Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Kajang Selangor.

Bittergourds stuffed pork in soup and no forgetting the side dip which is the chili-boh as well as the sweet dip sauce.

Sui-kow, wantan skin wrapped with pork in soup.

Tau-pok stuffed with fish paste and soft white tau foo stuffed with pork.

My ever a must have at any yong tau fu stalls is the fried soy beancurd stuffed with fish paste.
It's the best combination dip in the sweet and spicy sauce.

This is all the food we have plus the one not featured on the far right is fried fish paste which I think is a little on the salty side.

Not only selling the yong tau fu this particular shop is also selling their antiques.

 The other antiques around.

The shop is easily spotted as it has a very big shop name in front.

Hrmm... as for the price mainly at RM 1.10 per piece, is rather costly for yong tau fu for my knowing as we can easily get any yong tau fu practically anywhere in Kuala Lumpur at a reasonable price of RM 0.90 per piece and for else where like Malacca it can be as cheap as RM 0.55 per piece.

.:: Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) Fish Head Noodle ::.

Taddaaa ||| this is the belly cod fish meehoon which cost at RM 13.50, which I thought it is cheap despite being so fresh and juicy, and mind you it's COD FISH. The soup is sweet and the tenderness of the fish makes it melt in your mouth and topped it better is the sambal belacan that goes accompany with every bowl of fish head meehoon served.

Despite being in the soup for quite some time the fish is still crispy by the skin and juicy in the inner side. For those that doesn't take any carnation milk can opt for the clear soup fish based soup.

Above is the picture of another bowl of  fish head meehoon and also the bowl of sambal belacan which is good together with the fish.

Yup the cod fish belly is also being sold personally without the meehoon soup at the cost of RM 11.50 for four pieces, contrary to the one in the meehoon soup at 3 pieces.

Squeezes limau nipis into the sambal belacan makes a greater taste of spicy souce and sweet.

One piece of art that one shouldn't be missing.

Another favourites is the fish ball meehoon soup cost at RM 8.50 per bowl.

The fish ball is particularly springy and tasty and you could even find pieces of fish meat on ball.

Any time you can have additional soup in the case of your meehoon gets a little dry.

Anyone could see this that I am really obsessed with cod fish from the picture I take, but believe me this is the best fish head noodle I have ever tried before but nonetheless I will be back for the normal fish head noodle (ling fish head noodle) served at this place.

Fu-chuk aka. fried soya beancurd skin stuffed with fish paste at RM 3.90 per piece and this is two pieces.

Other food served are prawn breaded with sesame(restaurant famous), fish ball snacks, fu chuk rolls(fried soya bean skin stuffed with fish paste) and many others more. For one, I particularly would like to try on my next visit would be fresh salmon fish head noodle which I have already asked from several visits and have not being entertained with.
The place...
